In May we had a launch party for The Repeater Book of Heroism at Vout-O-Reenee’s in Aldgate, celebrating the work of all our contributors, who had come together to redefine the idea of the hero for a twenty-first-century public. From Eric Cantona to Wile E. Coyote, Bruno Latour to Paula Rego, forgotten legends and anonymous family members, this compendium of extraordinary human behaviour is essential reading for anyone who has ever thought that, despite what Jean-Paul Sartre said, heaven is other people.
The book, edited by Tariq Goddard and Alex Niven, included essays from Grace Blakeley, Carl Neville, Lesley-Ann Brown, Mat Osman, Christiana Spens, Andy Sharp, and Joy White, and we were thrilled to have the opportunity to bring everyone together to celebrate the book and the Repeater project as a whole. Here are some photographs by Eddie Ochtere of the evening at Vouts.
